Ananthagiri hills is located 6 kms from Vikarabad. This is one of the big forest area in Rangareddy district. There is a Vishnu temple in this forest area which is called Ananta Padmanabha Swamy Temple.The temple is open through out the day and devotees need to have a darshan of the Lord by going inside a small cave.

The temple is surrounded by  lush greenery & every nature lover must visit this place to enjoy the sheer beauty of the nature around this area. Along the temple there are few steps which lead to hill area with a 'pushkarini' and lots of ruined structures and a small shiva temple and of course lots and lots of greenery around.

There are a couple of  hotels bang opposite to the temple which serve refreshments. Among the important places to visit near Anantagiri is Shiva Temple at Bugga Rameshwaram

(around 6 kms from Anantagiri hills)

Just few kilometers from this temple towards Kotipally , there is a small revulet which is an excellent scenic area to be in & serves as an ideal picnic spot.

Further down from this place , in actual 16 kms from Anantagiri there is a reservoir at Kotipally which is an ideal place to enjoy with family & friends.

All in all its a refreshing experience to be visiting Vikarabad & the surrounding areas for a stress free day amid lush green natural surroundings.

The family weekend getaway involved the families of Mr. BRKS Murthy, Mr. K.N.Chary & yours truly (Sridhar) and the trip was memorable as this was the first time we had made such a journey together.
