Kuntala & Pochera Waterfalls
Day long trip to the highest waterfall in AP

Name: Kuntala & Pochera Waterfalls
Location: Nirmal City, Adilabad
Distance from Old Bowenpally (Secunderabad): 255 kms
Route: NH7

It was a cool & wet early morning on Saturday , 19th August, 6 families (around 22 members) gathered at the basement of our apartment to embark on a day long journey to witness the two beautiful waterfalls near Nirmal City. The mini bus carrying us took off at around 5 am.

With the outside weather becoming cool with slight drizzle everyone dozed off before seeing the day light well into 3 hours of journey. Journey on the NH7 was smooth and we stopped by on the road side for a while to enjoy the nature and morning sunshine.

After admiring the nature for a while we took off again now that everyone was up and awake it was time for the real fun to begin with lots of antakshari's and making fun around until everyone realized that they need refueling ( silly !!its breakfast) and we stopped around 150 kms into the journey at a roadside eatery  to enjoy hot poori's and idlies and top it up with hot coffee & tea.

On the way to the waterfalls we spent few hours at two temples the first stop was at the  Narasimha Swamy Temple at Kalwa, Dilwarpur
The second stop was at Mata Annapurna Kadile PapaHareshwara Swami Temple at Kadili, Dilwarpur

After paying obience to the dieties at the above two temples we had lunch at the temple's annadanam section and after donating money to the scheme started of on our final leg of the journey to the first waterfall at Pochera, finally we areached the Pochera waterfalls at around 2 in the afternoon

Pochera Waterfalls
Situated interiorly amidst dense forests this waterfall offers an exhilarated experience to the visitor,
The water that flows in separate and narrow streams unite and with gushing speed fall from a height of 20mts. The water thus collects on a platform of hill resembling a small lake. The water then slides down.

After spending a good 2 hours we started off to the final destination waterfall at Kuntala.

Kuntala Waterfall is the highest waterfall of Andhra pradesh.River Kanda flowing through the dense forests; at this point comes gushing and falls from a height of 45metres.he air is covered with a white cloud of mist.

After having thoroughly enjoyed at the waterfall finally we started off on homeward journey later in the evening and stopped by on the way to have hot tea and coffee before dozing off only to get up at our destination late in the night.

It was an exciting and fun-filled day with 100% enjoyment for the kids and adults alike.
